Self Regulation Training (SRT)®

Self-Regulation Training (SRT), also known as the Melrose Healing Method, is a technique for healing the effects of stress and trauma. It combines elements of somatic experiencing, neuroscience, metaphysics, meditation, and personal experiences to provide clients with a naturalistic way of healing. SRT aims to help clients "renegotiate" patterns of arousal and anxiety by supporting the body's natural ability to release over-activation. By combining stress and trauma with strengths and resources, SRT creates new, more empowering experiences, thereby strengthening and building resistance to future stress and trauma. SRT differs from traditional talk therapy and cathartic techniques, which may provide temporary relief but can also re-traumatize rather than heal. SRT is based on the understanding that what is most important for healing from stress and trauma is not just verbal meaning-making, but rather the physical experience of being in the body.
